Can any of you give any good suggestions for books to read? I know Jenny posted about one I am going to get. I want to learn more – Thanks!
Lately I wake up in the morning and once I have started pouring my cup of coffee (do that first first thing) I remember about Leah and get a huge smile on my face. At least I am at the part of adoption where I have not been in the game long enough for the wait to get to me. From reading all the adoption blogs, I see it is going to get hard. I can’t even image how I will cope once we get HER picture then have to wait months to have her!!!!!
Happy Tuesday!!
OH, and I am waiting to get our social worker’s name – hurry up and call agency!!! I want to set up our first homestudy meeting. They should be calling this week.

An excellent book is Adopted for Life by Russell Moore. You can read all about it (and order it) here —

Oh, and here’s another one — Toddler Adoption —

It defines toddler adoption as children between 1-3 years, and of course, adopting from Korea, our children will most likely be just a little younger than that, but I think most of the stuff in the book still applies. I haven’t finished it yet, but so far I’m enjoying it. It talks a lot about attachment, transitioning, etc — good practical information.

    i’m also going to read:

    The Connected Child http://www.amazon.com/Connected-Child-healing-adoptive-family/dp/0071475001

    It comes highly recommended 🙂
