John 14:18 NIV “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.”
I also looked this verse up in KJV and it is “I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.”
A child should never feel comfortless. There are so many orphans out there, and thru this process of adoption, I feel like my eyes have been opened to the cause. My heart is just plain heavy tonight for the orphans. May the Lord bless tonight all the “comfortless.” May He provide a loving home for every orphan.
Well we made the almost 4 hour hike up to Maryland and had a wonderful meeting with our international agency. I really really liked both women we spoke with and even got some adoption books from the agency. Along with an awesome travel guide with lots of cool things I get to read on traveling to Korea. It just went super well. I am over the moon excited and having a hard time not telling random people about our adoption, much less family and friends we are waiting to tell. I think at Thanksgiving we are going to have to spill the beans to everyone because I can not wait it out anymore!!! We found out that most referrals happen when the baby is 5-6 mos. home and average age for home is 9-10 mos. And as long as I get plugging along on my paperwork we should have her in a great timeframe. Our coordinator is traveling to Korea next week. So next on my list is : paperwork!
Tomorrow we are taking little Anderson 4 hours away to our international agency to have our first, (and only i think) face to face meeting with them. I am so excited because even though we have had our first homestudy, the international agency tomorrow will be able to fill us in on so many details about Korean adoption. Jack is going to grandma’s for the day. I know we will get all our international/gov’t paperwork to fill out tomorrow. Yea!!

Well I caught “some” type of bug. Not feeling hot at all. Sore throat, congestion, achy… not fun!! Poor little Anderson has had it for about a week, I think. He has been not sleeping well and very fussy. I just hope Jack and Daniel don’t catch it!
Anyway, enough complaining! Yesterday we had Jack’s 4th party and it was a blast!! Here are some pics! I can’t believe my little guy is 4. What a sweet little boy I have.
We have our meeting set up with the international agency. I am so excited to meet with them face to face.

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of his might.
I have been thinking this morning on how to answer questions about why we chose Korea. My answer will be “Because that is where the Lord led us and that is where our daughter will be born.” I have already had a few “why not adopt from the States” comments. To those I will respond that the Lord leads different people different ways in adoption. If everyone adopted from the States, who would care for the orphans in other countries? And if we all went to Africa, who would care for those in China? And if none of us adopted domestically, where would I be? (I was adopted as an infant) My point being, these comments gave me pause, and at first I felt guilty for going outside our borders. Then my HEART and the heart of HIM spoke to me. We are being called to Korea by HIM. He has our daughter named and meant for our family. We may have no idea if she is conceived, but my God knows and has angels around her. He will know her today, the day she is born, and will keep her in His care until we can care for her here on earth. And that, my friends, gives me the peace to be able to hold tight and trust that our daughter will be safely taken care of until the day comes that I will finally be able to count her sweet toes, kiss her cheeks and tell her just how much we all love her.
(I think it is so cool that as soon as I hit publish, my phone rang from the head of the Korea program at our international agency. Coincidence, I think not!)
We are waiting for our little girl from Korea. My husband and I have been married for 6 years, have two wonderful little boys and are in the process of adopting our next child. God is good!
